The area hosts <span class=\"s2\"><b>more than 1,216 wild plant species<\/b><\/span>, of which <span class=\"s2\"><b>over 107<\/b><\/span> are known to possess <span class=\"s2\"><b>medicinal properties<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s3\">Among them, <\/span><b>63 species are used in scientific medicine<\/b><span class=\"s3\">, and currently <\/span><b>40\u201345% of all pharmaceutical products<\/b><span class=\"s3\"> are derived from <\/span><b>plant-based raw materials<\/b><span class=\"s3\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Phytopreparations<\/b><\/span> made from medicinal plants have several advantages over synthetic drugs:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">they act gently on the human body, rarely cause allergic reactions, and <span class=\"s2\"><b>do not produce cumulative effects<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s3\">Medicinal plants contain <\/span><b>carbohydrates, organic acids, polysaccharides, starch, proteins, fats and fatty acids, essential oils, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, bitter substances, phytoncides, microelements, vitamins, and mineral salts<\/b><span class=\"s3\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The combined effect of these substances gives plants their <span class=\"s2\"><b>healing properties<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">In addition to serving as <span class=\"s2\"><b>food, clothing material, and medicine<\/b><\/span>, plants purify the air and protect the soil from <span class=\"s2\"><b>water and wind erosion<\/b><\/span>. Therefore, it is essential to <span class=\"s2\"><b>use our green resources wisely<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The first legal act aimed at plant protection \u2014 the <span class=\"s2\"><b>\u201cLaw on Nature Protection\u201d<\/b><\/span> \u2014 was adopted on <span class=\"s2\"><b>December 9, 1992<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Subsequent laws include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">the <\/span><b>\u201cLaw on the Protection of Specially Protected Natural Territories\u201d (May 7, 1993)<\/b><span class=\"s1\"> and<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">the <\/span><b>\u201cLaw on the Protection and Use of Plant World\u201d (December 26, 1997)<\/b><span class=\"s1\">,<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">which emphasize the study and conservation of medicinal plants.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">From this perspective, <span class=\"s2\"><b>preserving biodiversity<\/b><\/span>, studying <span class=\"s2\"><b>plant ecology<\/b><\/span> and <span class=\"s2\"><b>phytocenology<\/b><\/span> are of great importance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Medicinal plants found in Zomin National Park include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><b>Rosa fedtschenkoana, Crataegus turkestanica, Berberis oblonga, Artemisia vulgaris, Salvia sclarea, Hypericum perforatum, Codonopsis clematidea, Achillea filipendulina, A. millefolium, Origanum tytthanthum, Thermopsis alterniflora, Ziziphora pedicellata, Inula macrophylla.<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Rare and endangered medicinal species include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><b>Corydalis gortschakovii, C. sewerzowii, Colchicum kesselringii, Crocus korolkowii, Dracocephalum komarovii, Oxytropis leucocyanea, Prangos pabularia, Swertia lactea, Tulipa affinis.<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s3\">Within the park, there are <\/span><b>20 plant species<\/b><span class=\"s3\"> listed in the <\/span><b>Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan<\/b><span class=\"s3\">, including <\/span><b>5 medicinal species<\/b><span class=\"s3\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><b>Aconitum talassicum, Ferula sumbul, Tulipa affinis, Tulipa turkestanica, Colchicum kesselringii.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Zomin National Nature Park is extremely rich in medicinal plant species.
